Editorial Policy
How we write, check and update the guides on the Billux blog.
Who writes our guides
Our guides are written by the Billux Team — the people who build and support Billux, the GST billing and POS software used by shops across India. We write about what we see every day: how kirana stores, pharmacies, restaurants, salons, clothing stores and wholesalers actually bill, collect payments and file GST. More about Billux.
How we check GST facts
- GST rates, invoice rules, return due dates and thresholds are checked against the official source — CBIC rate notifications, the GST Council and the GST portal — before a guide is published.
- Guides that state GST rules list their official sources at the end of the article.
- Worked examples (tax splits, totals, rounding) are re-calculated by hand; CGST and SGST always add up to the total tax.
- We describe only Billux features that exist today, and prices that match our pricing page.
How we keep guides up to date
When a rule changes — for example the GST rate changes that took effect on 22 September 2025 — we review every guide it affects. A guide that has been revised shows an "Updated" date next to its original publish date. We also review our most-read guides at least every six months.
What we do not do
- We do not publish invented statistics, fake reviews or made-up customer numbers.
- We do not give legal or tax advice for your specific case. Our guides explain the general rules; for borderline items, HSN classification or filing decisions, please confirm with your chartered accountant.
- Comparisons with other software are based on publicly available information at the time of writing and say so.
